Wwii Japanese Flag Okinawa

This japanese flag is from a pilot named taro hashimoto in the 215th kokutai who flew at guam and okinawa during his service. eH surrendered at the end of the war and gave his flag up to my grandfather who was stationed in japan for several years in yokohama. He was only there at yokohama to manage stockpiles of surrendered weapons and came across the pilot.
